Charles E. Gavin, III


Chief Executive Officer | Board Chairman


Charles founded MFG Chemical in 1981. He has served as Chairman of the Board since the company’s founding and has also held the titles of President and CEO prior to his son, Chuck, assuming those roles. With Chuck’s passing on Dec. 25, 2015, Charles resumed the duties of CEO.


Prior to founding MFG, Charles had an illustrious career in the carpet industry. He served as Vice President of Manufacturing for Columbus Mills, Inc., and as Vice President and Director of Dyeing for Coronet Industries. Earlier Charles was Plant manager for Rossville Carpet Dyeing Corporation and Technical manager for Allied Chemical Corporation. He started his career with Cabin Crafts, a division of West Point Pepperell and served as Superintendent of Carpet dyeing. He graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Textile Management (dyeing Option).


In 1978, Charles completed the executive MBA Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a past president of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, a past Chairman of the Board of its’ Foundation and later served as Treasurer for each organization. He received the Harold C. Chapin Award for industry service in 2002.


Charles is a member of the Auburn Alumni Engineering Council and a member the President’s Circle of the 1856 Society. Auburn recognized him in 2003 as an Outstanding Alumnus in Textile Engineering, and in 2014 honored him with the Distinguished Auburn Engineer Award.


Charles was recently inducted into the Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame for his prowess in the textile engineering and chemical process industries.


Keith Arnold


Chief Operating Officer | President


Keith has played an instrumental role in the company’s growth in sales since 2006 when he joined MFG.  As President, Keith manages the day-to-day operations in sales and marketing, and leads the customer interface with custom and tolling manufacturing projects. He carries more than 25 years of experience in the chemical industry.


Keith is a 1984 graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Engineering. After working for a number of years in the Nuclear Industry with Bechtel Power Corporation, Keith began his career in the chemical industry with Nalco Chemical Company. He then moved to Kemira, NA at their headquarters. His responsibilities at both companies included Marketing and Sales.




Tom Kasser


Chief Financial Officer | Corporate Secretary | Treasurer of the Board


Tom (Dr. Thomas Richard) Kasser joined MFG Chemical in January of 2016 as Chief Financial Officer of the company.


Prior to joining MFG, Tom served as Senior Vice President of the Food Sector for Intrexon Corporation. Before that, he was President of the company’s Animal Sciences division. Tom served as President and CEO of Angionics, an early stage biotech company, from 2009 to 2011. He came to that position from Covance Corporation as Vice President and General Manager of Covance Research Products. He started his career with Monsanto Company, where he spent 20 years in a variety of leadership roles. While at Monsanto, Tom was designated a Monsanto Fellow in recognition of his scientific and technical excellence.


Tom received Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from The Pennsylvania State University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and holds and MBA in Finance and Marketing from Washington University.



Dave Driggers


Vice President, Operations


As VP of Operations, Dave manages all operating activities and directs all engineering projects.


Dave joined MFG in 2012 with more than 30 years of experience in the chemical industry. Dave has extensive experience in product development, engineering, and manufacturing. Dave has actually been associated with the chemical industry his entire life; his grandfather was the founder of Mayo Chemical, a successful company with multiple plants in Georgia and Tennessee.


Dave obtained a BS in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University in 1980.




Jack Drawdy


Sales & Business Development Manager


As Sales and Business Development Manager, Jack’s day-to-day responsibilities include contract manufacturing sales, market development, and sales management.


Jack received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Wofford College.  He found his way into the chemical industry in 1987 with what is now Brenntag, where he was branch manager at two different locations.  He then worked with Chemtura and Ortec, Inc. where he was the contract manufacturing sales manager.


Jack joined MFG Chemical in October 2012.
