Chattanooga (October, 2022) – The Association of Water Technologies (AWT) has bestowed its coveted “Rising Star Award” to Radical Polymers’ Chelsea Farmer in an awards ceremony at the Vancouver Convention Center, Vancouver, British Columbia.
As Product Manager at Radical Polymers, Chelsea has developed the popular INITIA® product line of polymer additives, which provides customers with the best and most customized antiscalants for meeting a wide variety of industrial and commercial water treatment applications.
Chelsea holds a BA in chemistry and a BS in Biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Ms. Farmer recently graduated with a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Chelsea began working as a formulations chemist within the water treatment industry while completing her undergraduate degrees and began working at Radical Polymers as an applications chemist since her graduation in late 2013.
Radical Polymers is a team of chemists with over 35 years of specific expertise in the design and application of water treatment additives. Radical Polymers has been so successful with INITIA® polymer additives that the company was awarded “Supplier of the Year” by the Association of Water Technologies (AWT) several years ago.
Earlier this year, Radical Polymers was acquired by MFG Chemical, a leading specialty and custom chemical manufacturer with three large, award-winning and ISO 9001: 2015 Certified plants, and a popular pilot plant, all located in Dalton, Georgia.
In receiving the Rising Star Award, Chelsea commented, “I’m humbled at the thought of receiving this Award. I love my work at Radical Polymers and know that INITIA® antiscalants are working effectively to help customers with their water treatment needs.”.
Radical Polymers co-founder, Mike Standish, who joined MFG Chemical as Vice President, Water Additives, and is also the Ring Star Award Winner’s father, declared, “I’m very happy and proud that Chelsea has received this beautiful industry recognition. She is very dedicated to her work and is making an excellent contribution to the water industry through her work on INITIA®, helping heating and cooling water customers in resolving their issues, and supporting the AWT.”
MFG Chemical President & CEO Paul Turgeon added, “Having been part of the water industry my entire career, I see Chelsea Farmer as an outstanding choice for the AWT Rising Star Award. Chelsea typifies the expertise and dedication of the people we have at Radical Polymers and throughout the MFG Chemical organization.”
